Soundtrack Saturday

Instructions: Chose a song that you believe could be the soundtrack to your last finished book, or a character in your last finished book.

Last Book: Ripper by Amy Carol Reeves (review)
Soundtrack: Discombobulate by Hans Zimmer (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows)

As you all may know, I am a huge Hans Zimmer fan, so when I thought about Ripper, this catchy song came to mind. The celtic sounds in this piece definitely denotes Abbie's Irish upbringing before she came to London. This track really brings the steam engines, workmen and everything else relative to the revolutionary era to life, and wonderfully depicts the London air. The upbeat tempo represents the mystery of the Jack the Ripper cases, and makes you just want to get up and solve a crime!

If you want something more literal towards the whole Jack the Ripper soundtrack cliché, a nice contemporary alternative would be anything in the From Hell (2001) soundtrack, as that particular movie is another take on the Jack the Ripper mystery :)

Here's Whitechapel Murders by Trevor Jones (From Hell)
